Attractions

There are many interesting shops, art galleries, pubs and restaurants to be found around Stow Square. Walk down one of the small passageways and courtyards to find small shops and delightful tea shops. The Church of St Edward stands on the site of the original Saxon Church believed to have been made of wood. The tower houses the heaviest peal of bells in Gloucestershire. You can also see on the Green the Old Stocks no longer in use of course!
On the second Thursday every month there is a Village market held in the Square.

Stow-on-the-Wold is an ideal centre for touring the Cotswold, the many delighful villages with picturesque sounding names.

Close by is Bourton-on-the-Water just 4 miles away with the River Windrush flowing on its way to the Thames. Sit on the banks watching the ducks or visit one of the many tea shops. Also visit Bird land, Motor Museum, Model Village and Model Railway.
On your way to Bourton turn off and visit The Slaughters, Upper and Lower.

In the opposite direction is Moreton-in-Marsh where every Tuesday there is a village Market. Coaches arrive from miles around such is its popularity. Meander your way back through Broadwell, or via Chipping Norton and Lower and Upper Oddington.

Chipping Campden --Old market building and traditional houses.
Broad Campden --Lovely houses with thatched roofs.
Broadway --Tower on the top of Fish Hill where William Morris had a workshop. Animal park.
Bibury --said at one time to be the prettiest village in the Cotswolds.
Guiting Power --The Cotswold farm Park.
Chedworth --The Roman Villa.
Winchcombe --Sudeley Castle.
Burford --The Cotswold Wild Life park

Further afield but all within 20 to 30 miles
Cheltenham with Regency architecture.
Stratford-on-Avon has not only the well known theatre but also a Teddy Bear Museum and Butterfly farm.
Oxford, Woodstock and Blenheim Palace.
Warwick with a long interesting history. Visit the Castle.

Cheltenham, Warwick,Worcester and Stratford.
